Telling him that he "waited on ... Chief Justice Holt who promised to take care of [Lyde's] affair"; adding that he is glad of any occasion to show his thanks for Lyde's efforts to look after his concerns in Pensford; telling him that he trusts his judgment in assessing what needs to be done at Buckhill [Locke's Somerset property]; discussing Joseph Barnes' rent at Buckhill; mentioning currency and saying he wishes he "had all [his] rents returned to London in good bills"; sending him a letter of attorney (MA 231.4).
